About

The Future Fabric Project is a student-led platform exploring the intersection of fashion, sustainability, and environmental impact. Through articles, interviews, and interactive features, the project aims to uncover the hidden systems behind everyday consumption — and highlight the people and ideas reshaping them.

What began as a curiosity about the environmental cost of fashion has grown into a broader initiative focused on awareness, storytelling, and action. The platform brings together research, design, and community engagement to make sustainability more accessible and tangible.

About the Founder

I am a student researcher and creator interested in how environmental challenges intersect with everyday industries — particularly fashion, consumer behavior, and global supply chains.

My work spans both research and real-world application. Through working along Princeton Professor Dr. Falmange, I have conducted research on water pollution using satellite data, focusing on how industrial activity impacts surrounding ecosystems and how these patterns can inform early warning systems.

I have also worked with organizations such as Elemental Impact, where I researched the sustainability of beauty product supply chains and explored solutions to reduce environmental harm across production and distribution.

Beyond research, I am interested in translating awareness into action. As part of this, I initiated a project creating and donating over 50 handmade crochet items to children of migrant farm workers in India — many of whom have been affected by climate-driven displacement. This experience reinforced the importance of connecting environmental issues to human impact.

In addition, I serve as a leader of my school’s science magazine, where I work with a team to develop and publish articles that make complex scientific ideas more accessible and engaging. Through this role, I have strengthened my ability to communicate research clearly, collaborate with others, and shape content that connects academic concepts to real-world issues.

Why this Project

Sustainability is often discussed in abstract terms — statistics, policies, and large-scale systems. But its effects are felt in everyday choices: what we wear, what we buy, and how we live.

The Future Fabric Project was created to bridge that gap.

By combining research, storytelling, and design, the project seeks to:

  • Make environmental issues more understandable and relatable

  • Highlight innovation and leadership in sustainable fashion

  • Encourage more intentional, informed consumption

Looking Forward

The Future Fabric Project continues to grow through new articles, interviews, and collaborations. As the platform develops, it aims to expand its reach, deepen its research, and create more opportunities for meaningful impact.

Because shaping a more sustainable future doesn’t begin with industries alone — it begins with awareness.
